UK Pavilion Planning Meeting
Three takeaways from our for UK Pavilion planning meeting for the IWA Congress Glasgow 2026.
Last month, we brought together the planning committee for the UK Pavilion at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Glasgow next year. This team is made up of young water professionals from across the industry who will be leading the pavilion, alongside representatives from our key sponsors — together representing the UK water sector.
Hosted at Capgemini’s offices, we experienced their Accelerated Solutions Lab, which gave us the chance to think big, collaborate deeply, and set a clear vision for the year ahead.
The energy in the room was inspiring — and we left with three design principles that will guide everything we do for the Pavilion.
Principle 1: Showcasing passion for the water profession
The Pavilion will highlight not only cutting-edge technology but also the power of our people and leadership. We want to celebrate the diversity of the UK water industry and the passion of those who dedicate their careers to water. Expect a nod to the importance of empowering marginalised voices throughout — because excellence is about more than innovation, it’s about people.
Principle 2: Creating an evolving experience
We don’t want the Pavilion to be a “one and done” experience. Instead, it will be a welcoming hub that evolves throughout the week. Visitors will have reasons to return — whether for conversations, networking, or interactive sessions. Think less static displays, more dynamic exchanges.
Principle 3: Inspiring action
The Pavilion will be a space where ideas turn into commitments. We’ll provide opportunities for informal debriefs after congress sessions — those moments when the best insights often emerge. We’ll also host a supporting programme of events designed to spark inspiration and show that change is possible when people come together with passion for the water profession.
Think pledges and personal commitments to action that connect the themes of the wider congress to practical steps for the UK water industry.
Looking ahead
These three principles — excellence, hub, action — are our success metrics. They will shape how the Pavilion looks, feels, and delivers impact.
We’re excited to bring them to life in Glasgow next year, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on what would make the Pavilion most valuable for you.
